After saying many heartfelt goodbyes, I headed to the airport, ready to leave home for 3 months. However, I returned home 3 hours later.
I checked in, went through security and found my gate only to learn that my flight from Cincinnati to Toronto was delayed an hour and fifteen minutes due to mechanical issues. I thought that I'd be fine, but I realized that I only had about an hour and a half between my flights - so my connection in Toronto would be too tight. I spent over an hour on hold on the phone calling airlines and airports and got my flights rebooked for the following day.
Upon my dad's suggestion, I ubered back home (maybe the airline will pay for it?)
At least I got to spend one more night at home with friends and family! (Aka worked a couple hours at Chick-fil-A)
